Annual Financial Results

Sporting has published its official report and financial statements for the period from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025, revealing a profit of €1.577 million. This figure is consistent with the club’s recent financial outcomes. The results will be presented for discussion and a vote at the forthcoming General Assembly, which is set for Sunday, 5 October at 13:30 in the João Rocha hall. This date also coincides with Sporting’s eighth-round League fixture, as the team is due to host SC Braga on the same day.

Governing Council Recommendations and Potential Profit Distribution

The financial report contains the assessment from the Fiscal and Disciplinary Council, which advocates for the approval of the accounts. The Council’s opinion specifies that, should the accounts be ratified by Sporting’s membership, a portion of the profits – €278.79 million – will be distributed to the club’s employees.

Year-on-Year Financial Comparison

The profit declared for 2024/25 represents a significant decrease compared to the €21.110 million registered in 2023/24. The previous year’s results were notably boosted by a debt restructuring agreement with Novo Banco, which had a pronounced positive influence on the accounts during that period.

Increased Revenues Across Multiple Streams

In the 2024/25 financial year, Sporting’s membership fee income rose by 19 percent, climbing from €12.3 million to €14.6 million. This uptick corresponds with a growth in paying members, increasing from 104,159 to 119,139. Additionally, registration fees across Sporting’s various sports divisions edged up from €2.42 million as of 30 June 2024 to €2.60 million by the same date the following year.

Rising Liabilities and Debt Context

Despite these positive revenue trends, the club experienced an increase in total liabilities, which rose from €239.78 million to €302.610 million. According to the financial documents, this surge is mainly the result of a higher current account balance with SAD. The previous restructuring of debt with Novo Banco was cited as having materially improved the prior year’s financial position.
