Match Overview
Fiorentina chose a pivotal moment to deliver their largest away league win since October 2024, beating relegation rivals Cremonese 4-1. This decisive result allowed the visitors to increase their lead over Serie A’s bottom three and put daylight between themselves and the threat of relegation.
First-Half Action
Cremonese, well aware that victory would move them above Fiorentina and out of the drop zone, began energetically. Federico Bonazzoli created an early opportunity by breaking the defensive line, but his low shot was denied at the near post. Fiorentina responded as Fabiano Parisi forced a save at the opposing end. Parisi, however, was not to be denied on his next attempt – demonstrating fine skill in the penalty area before drilling the ball through Emil Audero’s legs to open the scoring.
The visitors then doubled their advantage when Robin Gosens picked out Roberto Piccoli’s perfectly-timed run with a deft through ball, which Piccoli finished with confidence. Trailing at half-time, Cremonese faced an uphill battle, having previously lost ten of eleven Serie A matches in which they were behind at the interval this season. Their best first-half chance to respond came as Tommaso Barbieri fired wastefully over the crossbar from distance.

Second-Half Drama
Shortly after the break, Fiorentina effectively sealed the result when Dodo produced an eye-catching individual effort. The 27-year-old powered down the right flank, eluded both the goalkeeper and a defender with a clever feint, and calmly slotted into the unguarded net for Fiorentina’s third goal.
Cremonese, however, were determined not to capitulate and managed to reduce the deficit when David Okereke finished from close range after being found in space inside the penalty area. Nevertheless, Fiorentina quickly resumed their dominance. Although Rolando Mandragora was twice denied – once by an acrobatic save and again by narrowly missing the target – Albert Gudmundsson ultimately restored Fiorentina’s three-goal cushion with a low shot into the bottom corner.
Late on, Okereke headed off target and Alessio Zerbin missed with another effort as Cremonese’s frustrations mounted. They remain three points adrift of safety and have now failed to win in fifteen consecutive outings, while Fiorentina have suffered only a single league defeat in their last six fixtures dating back to February.
