Expanded Squad Announced For International Window
England head coach Thomas Tuchel has confirmed a 35-man group for the Three Lions’ upcoming March internationals at Wembley Stadium connected by EE. These fixtures against Uruguay and Japan form a key part of England’s build-up towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup and will take place during the men’s first international window of the year. Both opponents, like England, are set to participate in the World Cup in North America this summer.

Tuchel has opted for a larger party than usual, with squad members set to join the camp in two phases throughout the window. “We decided to divide it into basically two camps almost, so we bring players in that we haven’t seen who haven’t played so much to open up the picture, and the competition for plane tickets to the US. Then from Friday and Saturday, a group of players will come into camp – ten or eleven players who get a rest before and we will then go with a new group and mix of players into the match against Japan.”
Notable Call-Ups and Returns
The latest England selection sees Everton midfielder James Garner included for the first time at senior level, with Brighton’s Jason Steele also named and in contention to join the World Cup squad as a training goalkeeper in the summer.
Manchester United pair Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire return to the group, while Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento are back following injuries that kept them out of the autumn internationals. AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori has also been recalled.
Leeds United striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been called up for the first time in five years, and Tottenham Hotspur’s Dominic Solanke also features among the forwards.
