Ivan Juric Appointed Monza Head Coach Following Serie A Promotion

Atalanta head coach Ivan Juric

Key Takeaways:

  • Monza confirmed Ivan Juric as their new coach after securing Serie A promotion through the play-offs
  • Paolo Bianco departed the club by mutual consent to take up a position with Pisa
  • Juric, who has recently managed Roma, Southampton, and Atalanta, steps in as Monza’s head coach

Juric Takes Charge at Promoted Monza

Ivan Juric has been officially unveiled as Monza’s new head coach, following the club’s return to Serie A after coming through the Serie B play-offs. The managerial change was necessitated by Paolo Bianco’s decision to leave the club, having chosen to pursue a new role at Pisa. Despite just a single season in Serie B, Monza have now reclaimed their spot in Italy’s top flight.

Recent Managerial Journey of Ivan Juric

Juric’s career has seen considerable upheaval in recent years. After leaving Torino in the summer of 2024, he became manager of Roma, where his stint lasted a mere 12 matches before he was dismissed in November 2024. Juric then moved to the Premier League, taking charge at Southampton, but was sacked in April 2025 after overseeing 16 matches.

Subsequently, Juric’s tenure at Atalanta also proved brief, as his spell ended after only 15 competitive games in November 2025, a period that followed the departure of long-serving coach Gian Piero Gasperini. Prior to these roles, Juric gained experience at clubs including Verona, Genoa, Crotone and Mantova, in addition to serving as assistant to Gasperini.

Current Serie A Coaching Landscape

Monza’s confirmation of Juric as their new boss means that, at present, Napoli remain the sole Serie A side without a head coach. Napoli are expected to make an appointment once Max Allegri concludes his contract with Milan.
