Roma Focus on Dan Ndoye After Missing Out on Greenwood

Dan Ndoye

Key Takeaways:

  • Roma have shifted their attention to Nottingham Forest’s Dan Ndoye after failing to secure Mason Greenwood
  • Fenerbahce have outbid Roma in the race for Greenwood, offering the Englishman a salary in the region of €8m-€10m per season
  • Nottingham Forest are reportedly willing to part ways with Ndoye, whose valuation has recently declined following a challenging season

Roma’s Pursuit of Greenwood Ends with Fenerbahce Move

Roma’s hopes of acquiring Mason Greenwood have come to an end, as negotiations with Marseille reached an impasse over a €50m asking price. Despite having reportedly agreed personal terms with the Manchester United forward, the Giallorossi were unable to match a proposal from Turkish side Fenerbahce, who have tabled a salary offer believed to be between €8m and €10m per year.

Focus Shifts to Dan Ndoye as an Alternative

With Greenwood now heading to Fenerbahce, Roma have begun targeting Dan Ndoye of Nottingham Forest as their next option. Ndoye, formerly of Bologna, joined Forest in a deal valued at €40m plus additional bonuses last summer. However, the Swiss international struggled to establish himself as a regular starter for the Premier League club during the 2025-26 campaign. Nottingham Forest are open to allowing the winger to move on after only 12 months at the City Ground, and his market value has recently decreased.

Roma’s Internal Priorities Ahead of Pre-Season

Alongside their efforts to reinforce the squad, Roma are also undertaking internal contractual matters concerning Paulo Dybala, Zeki Celik, and Lorenzo Pellegrini. The squad are due to return for pre-season training on Monday, after which club management are expected to intensify their pursuit of new arrivals ahead of the upcoming campaign.
