Fort Points Towards Dortmund After Barcelona Decision
Héctor Fort’s future appears to be moving away from Barcelona, with the defender reportedly settling on Borussia Dortmund as his desired next club ahead of an expected departure from Catalunya’s capital.
The 20-year-old has been placed outside Barcelona’s plans this summer. After spending last season on loan at Elche, Fort did not persuade head coach Hansi Flick that he was ready to take on a significant role back at the Camp Nou for the coming season.
With Barcelona looking to generate fresh funds in the transfer market, the club’s hierarchy have made the versatile full-back available before the fast-approaching transfer deadline. Several clubs from Spain and elsewhere are understood to have shown interest in his services.

Reported Preference Made Clear
According to transfer insider Patrick Berger, Fort has now identified Dortmund as the option he wants to pursue.
‘Hector Fort’s wish, after being forced to leave Barça, is to play for Borussia Dortmund. He has expressed this to his agents and the club.’ Barcelona are hopeful of bringing in a sum in the region of €15 million through Fort’s sale.
Dortmund Also Assessing Wide Options
Dortmund’s transfer activity is not limited to Fort. The German club are also targeting Ethan Nwaneri as they look to add another winger this summer.
The 18-year-old Arsenal player is reportedly high on Dortmund’s shortlist, alongside former Borussia player Jadon Sancho. Arsenal are open to Nwaneri leaving on loan, but the Gunners currently want any deal to remain temporary and include no purchase option.
