Fabinho Arrives to Join Salah in Trabzon
Trabzonspor have confirmed the signing of Fabinho, with the Brazilian midfielder set to reunite with former Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah. The announcement came this morning, shortly after Fabinho became available as a free agent following his departure from Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad.
The Turkish club have already announced their new arrival, releasing footage of Fabinho wearing the Trabzonspor shirt after landing by private jet.
“A familiar face is waiting for me in Trabzon,” said Fabinho in the Trabzonspor social media post as he referred to Salah, who joined the side earlier this summer.
Trabzonspor tweeted: “Fabinho is coming! We await all our fans at Trabzon Airport at 11:30 AM for the big meeting and to welcome the Brazilian star.”

Salah’s High-Profile Arrival and Early Impact
Salah, 34, joined Trabzonspor on a free transfer after leaving Liverpool following a trophy-laden nine-year spell. His reception in Turkey was on a huge scale, with tens of thousands of supporters greeting him, flares being lit and fans chanting his name.
The winger described the welcome as “incredible” and said he could not put the amount of love he had been shown into words. Reports stated that around 25,000 people welcomed him to the club.
His impact on the pitch has also been immediate. Trabzonspor have started the season unbeaten in two games so far, and Salah has already scored two goals for the Turkish giants.
Basaksehir Brace Secures First League Win
Salah opened his Turkish Super Lig account with a double on Sunday as Trabzonspor defeated Istanbul Basaksehir 2-1 to claim their first win of the season.
Making his first league start after appearing as a substitute in Trabzonspor’s season opener, Salah put his team in front in the eighth minute. The chance came after Basaksehir goalkeeper Muhammed Sengezer failed to hold onto the ball, allowing the Egyptian winger to capitalise.
Basaksehir drew level in the 19th minute when Eldor Shomurodov scored from the penalty spot. However, Salah restored Trabzonspor’s advantage three minutes into the second half, driving down the right, linking with Ernest Muci and finishing into the far corner.
Salah also had two further goals ruled out during a standout display. One stoppage-time effort was disallowed for a foul in the build-up, while another was chalked off for an off-side after he found an empty net from long range with the opposition goalkeeper up-field for a corner.
Upcoming European Test
Salah will now turn his attention to Thursday’s Europa League playoff second leg away to Ferencvaros. Trabzonspor go into that match after suffering a 1-0 home defeat in the first leg.
