Fiorentina Decide to Fine Kean for Skipping Training as Inter Shut Door on Bonny Deal

Fiorentina striker Moise Kean
  • Moise Kean arrived late for Fiorentina training on Wednesday morning, and the club have already decided to fine him
  • Como have submitted an improved offer worth €40m total, believed to be €35m plus €5m in bonuses, but Fiorentina reportedly want €45m
  • Inter will not entertain offers for Ange-Yoan Bonny, who had been on Fiorentina’s list of preferred replacements for Kean

Fiorentina Take Disciplinary Action After Kean’s Late Arrival

Fiorentina’s situation with Moise Kean has escalated after the Italy international arrived late for training on Wednesday morning and made it clear that he no longer wants to train with his Viola team-mates.

The club have already decided to fine Kean for what has been described as an unauthorised late arrival. Fiorentina have also instructed the former Juventus striker to report for individual training on Wednesday afternoon. If he refuses to attend, he will be fined again, and the club intend to continue issuing fines for every session he misses.

The 26-year-old’s stance follows Como’s improved bid for the striker. The Champions League newcomers had submitted a proposal worth €40m in total, believed to consist of €35m plus €5m in bonuses. Fiorentina, however, reportedly want at least €45m before agreeing to a sale this summer.

Como Must Meet the Asking Price – and Fiorentina Still Want a Replacement

Fiorentina’s position is that they do not need to sell Kean during the summer transfer window. If Como do not meet their request of at least €45m, the striker will remain at the club. Should that happen and Kean continue to refuse to train, Fiorentina are prepared to leave him on the sidelines for the foreseeable future.

Even if Como match the €45m valuation, Fiorentina still want to secure a suitable replacement before allowing the Italy international to depart. That requirement has become more complicated because one of their preferred options appears to be unavailable.

Inter Close the Door on Ange-Yoan Bonny

Fiorentina’s search for a possible centre-forward replacement has also suffered a setback. Ange-Yoan Bonny had been among the Viola’s ideal candidates if Kean were to leave, but Inter do not intend to part with him.

The reigning Serie A champions consider the Frenchman to be unsellable, even though he currently sits behind Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram and Pio Esposito in the Nerazzurri pecking order.

Inter may still move players on before the summer transfer window closes. Luis Henrique and Kristjan Asllani are the most likely players to be cut from Cristian Chivu’s squad. Yanis Massolin also attracts interest from Ligue 1.

Fiorentina’s Centre-Forward Options Narrow

Fiorentina have already signed Mateo Pellegrino this summer as a replacement for Roberto Piccoli. With Bonny seemingly unavailable, the other alternatives mentioned include Everton’s Beto, free agent Mauro Icardi, Chelsea’s Emanuel Emegha and RB Leipzig’s Conrad Harder.
