AS Monaco and Chelsea are reportedly in talks over a move for Lamine Camara. The Senegalese midfielder has emerged as a potential successor to Enzo Fernández, who could leave Chelsea for Manchester City before the transfer window shuts. Monaco managing director Thiago Scuro is said to be handling the negotiations, with the objective of completing the operation within 48 hours.
A fee of €60m could reportedly be sufficient to convince Monaco’s hierarchy to sanction Camara’s departure.

Manchester City Agreement for Fernández
The situation is being driven by major developments around Fernández. Argentine outlet TyC Sports wrote on Thursday night: ‘The Enzo Fernández saga is nearing its end.
‘The parties have reached an agreement and he will join Manchester City in another mega-money transfer.’
They added: ‘Manchester City will pay around €140 million for him: he will sign a contract until 2032, with the option to extend for another season..’
€140m matches the valuation Chelsea had placed on Fernández. The Blues are now fully expected to pursue a high calibre replacement and, given the reported scale of the Manchester City deal, they won’t lack funds in that search.
Camara’s Recent Output and International Pedigree
Camara has become an important figure in Ligue 1, operating in the centre of midfield for Monaco. The Diouloulou-born player enjoyed a productive 2025-26 campaign, registering three goals and four assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.
At international level, the Senegal international was also influential in the Lions of Teranga’s run to the final of the last Africa Cup of Nations. He also appeared in all four of Pape Thiaw’s side’s matches at the World Cup.
