Marseille’s Response and Brunner’s Second
Monaco’s German forward nearly doubled his tally before the interval, first scuffing a close-range effort and then drawing another save from De Lange. Marseille, who had lost five of their last seven away league matches, attempted to change the story, with Amine Harit growing in influence. The Moroccan drove a speculative shot wide before setting up Angel Gomes, whose deflected effort sailed over the bar.
As half-time approached, Harit appealed for a penalty after contact with Sadibou Sane inside the box, but referee Willy Delajod dismissed the claims. After the break, Marseille introduced Keyliane Abdallah and threatened again through Gomes, yet it was Brunner who made the decisive impact.
