Sarr Cleared For Juventus Move After Tottenham Green Light

Juventus’ recruitment drive has gathered pace, with the club having reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur for central midfielder Pape Matar Sarr. The Senegal international is expected to move to the Bianconeri on loan, with the arrangement including a potential obligation to buy.

Tottenham had authorised Sarr to travel to Italy to complete the transfer. Juventus moved swiftly for the midfielder after discovering that Franck Kessie had chosen to return to Atalanta rather than join Luciano Spalletti in Turin.

The overall package for Sarr is reported to reach €30m, combining the loan fee and the buy clause if the move becomes permanent. The obligation to buy would be activated in the event of Europa League qualification and if Sarr appears in at least 50% of the team’s matches in 2026-27.

Potential Eighth Arrival Of The Summer

If finalised, Sarr could become Juventus’ eighth signing of the summer transfer window. The club had already brought in Guglielmo Vicario, also from Tottenham, along with Randal Kolo Muani, Kerim Alajbegovic, Jeff Ekhator, Jhon Lucumi, Zeki Zelik and Kamil Grabara.

Zirkzee Becomes Juventus’ Preferred Forward Target

Juventus are also pursuing reinforcements in attack. The club are seeking at least one new striker after the serious injury to Kenan Yildiz, while Jonathan David is reportedly nearing a move to Atletico Madrid on loan with an option to buy.

If Juventus can move the CANMNT player off their books, that would create the space needed to recruit a forward more closely aligned with Luciano Spalletti’s footballing ideas.

Joshua Zirkzee has wanted to return to Serie A for months, and multiple sources suggest that he had delayed responding to Fiorentina’s interest because he was hoping Juventus would eventually enter the race. Sky Sport Italia claim that Juventus had now done so, putting forward a new proposal to Manchester United for a paid loan with an option to buy for €30m.

Fiorentina Competition And Woltemade Back-Up Plan

Fiorentina remain interested in Zirkzee, but Juventus are described as his preferred destination. That creates a complication for Fiorentina, who will not release Moise Kean to Como until they have secured a replacement.

Although Zirkzee is clearly Juventus’ first choice, Sky Sport Italia also reported that the club had prepared an alternative route. The Bianconeri contacted Newcastle United to ask about the availability of Nick Woltemade.

Woltemade has already been linked with Serie A in recent days, with rumours previously suggesting that Napoli had made an approach for the Newcastle United centre-forward.
