Newcastle Move to Add Fernandez-Pardo After Gordon Departure

Newcastle United have agreed a deal with Lille for Matias Fernandez-Pardo, according to Fabrizio Romano, as the Magpies look to strengthen their attacking options. The 21-year-old Belgium international winger has been seeking a departure from Les Dogues and is now expected to fly to Tyneside to finalise the transfer process and complete a medical.

Newcastle are set to pay Lille a €60m transfer fee plus add-ons for Fernandez-Pardo. The winger has been linked with a move away from LOSC throughout the summer, with Newcastle identified as the most determined suitor for the player.

Fernandez-Pardo also featured at this summer’s FIFA World Cup. Newcastle’s need for attacking reinforcements has been heightened by Anthony Gordon’s sale to FC Barcelona, while Lille had already prepared for Fernandez-Pardo’s expected exit by signing Feyenoord striker Ayase Ueda.

Juventus Step Up Interest in Woltemade

While Newcastle are working on a major attacking arrival, Juventus are accelerating efforts to sign Nick Woltemade from the Magpies. The Turin club’s pursuit comes after they found an agreement to send Jonathan David to Atletico Madrid.

The situation could represent a late-window reshuffle in the Juventus forward line. Luciano Spalletti has been seeking a new attacker to compete and rotate with Randal Kolo Muani, but Juventus first needed to move on last season’s underperformers, David and Lois Openda.

Lois Openda joined Lyon on loan earlier this summer. Juventus had agreed to send David to Atletico on a season-long loan deal including a €25m option to buy, freeing space for a new centre-forward addition.

Loan Structure Under Discussion for Woltemade

Despite links with Manchester United’s Jonathan Zirkzee and Atletico Madrid’s Alexander Sorloth, reports on the penultimate day of the summer transfer window identify Newcastle’s Woltemade as Juventus’ current priority.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Woltemade is keen on the move to Juventus and has already agreed personal terms.
