Black-Market Crackdown Before Kick-Off
The intensity of demand has also led to police involvement. Anadolu reported that nine suspects were arrested on Monday as part of an operation targeting black-market ticket sales. Surveillance work identified the suspects and their addresses before the arrests were made.
The detainees were taken to police headquarters so legal procedures could be completed. With the match approaching, controlling access to the stadium has become the central operational issue in the hours before kick-off.
Flick Highlights Aleksey Batrakov’s Quality
Alongside the ticket story, Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has spoken highly of Galatasaray youngster Aleksey Batrakov. The Russian midfielder has previously made public his ambition to one day play in the colours of the Blaugrana.
Batrakov is a 21-year-old midfielder who mainly operates in an advanced role. He joined Galatasaray in Istanbul this past summer after emerging as a breakout player at Lokomotiv Moscow.
Since moving to Türkiye, Batrakov has made five Süper Lig appearances for Galatasaray. He started this past weekend as the Turkish champions returned to winning form against Kasımpaşa. The 15-time capped Russian international assisted one of Galatasaray’s three goals and delivered a strong overall performance.
Flick had been watching closely. Asked about Batrakov before Barcelona’s Champions League meeting with Galatasaray, the German coach said:
“I’ve seen many games, and after the last one, I have to say he’s a great player.”
When questioned further about the midfielder’s dream of representing Barcelona, Flick added:
“If you’re young and talented, why not dream? We have to try everything.”
