Assembly Set to Confirm Nadal’s Nomination

Once approved – a result widely anticipated – Nadal will formally assume his place among the board.

The decision will be finalised at an extraordinary general assembly, where club members will cast their votes regarding his appointment. An official notice issued by “Marca” stated: “A proposal from the board of directors to be approved by the extraordinary general assembly, appointing Mr Rafael Nadal Parera a member of the board of directors of Real Madrid, in accordance with Article 46 of the statutes.”

The same statement confirmed: “In this regard, the board unanimously agreed to submit the following proposal to the extraordinary general assembly for approval: the ratification of the appointment of Mr Rafael Nadal Parera as a member of the board of directors of Real Madrid, in accordance with Article 46 of the statutes.”

The regular (ordinary) general assembly will commence on 21 November, with the first session at 9:00 am, followed by a second session at 10:00 am. Proceedings will include customary matters such as the president’s report, examination and approval (as applicable) of the annual budget settlement, annual report, balance sheet, profit and loss account, as well as consolidated accounts with subsidiary companies for the 2025/2026 financial year.

In addition, club members will review the proposed consolidated budget of income and expenditure, the activities plan for 2026/2027, membership fees for the 2027/2028 season, and the session will close with an opportunity for questions and commentary.

Nadal’s Appointment: A Single-Focus Agenda

Shortly after the ordinary session, the extraordinary general assembly will convene, consisting solely of the proposal to appoint Nadal to the board of directors. Real Madrid has described Nadal as an exemplary figure, both for his unparalleled athletic success and the values he represents.

Nadal has already acknowledged the honour, extending his appreciation via social networks: “I would like to thank president Florentino Perez and the board of directors for proposing my joining Real Madrid’s board of directors,” he said. “I have accepted this proposal with great enthusiasm, and I am eager to learn and to contribute as much as possible.”
