Inter Miami with the perfect Christmas present: Luis Suarez will reunite with Messi, Alba and Busquets for one last dance

Luis Suarez will join Inter Miami in the MLS from 2024. He will become the 4th ex-Barcelona player there, joining his good friends Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Leo Messi.

The Uruguayan striker will sign a one-year contract with the Miami-based team. There were some doubts surrounding Suarez’ move to Inter, with the main questions regarding the financial aspect of the deal. Inter Miami already have 3 players on designated contracts, with that being Messi, Alba, and Busquets but obviously, Suarez and the franchise owner David Beckham have come to an agereement.

Inter Miami won their first ever MLS trophy in 2023 as they defeated Nashville in the Leagues Cup final on penalties, as the regular 90 minutes ended in a 1:1 draw. Next season will be the team’s 4th in the MLS, with Inter’s best finish to date being 12th overall in 2022, but last campaign they ended in 27th place among the 29 participants. Inter Miami have never reached the MLS play-offs in their history.

Suarez, who will turn 37 on 24th of January has won trophies with 6 of the 7 clubs he has representented in his career, with the only exception being the Swedish Groningen. Most recently he helped Gremio to the Brazilian Serie A title in 2023. The Uruguayan remains the only player who has managed to win the scoring title in a championship which consists Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi, by hitting 40 LaLiga goals in the 2015/16 season.
