David Moyes records 1st win at Emirates Stadium from the 23rd attempt

Arsenal lost 0:2 at home to London rivals West Ham on Thursday. Declan Rice – the Gunners’ record signing and ex-West Ham captain had a night to forget, as he was helpless against his former teammates and he was responsible for the foul that led to the Hammers’ late penalty. The margin could have been even bigger, had Said Benrahma scored from the spot in stoppage time. The defeat leaves Arsenal 2nd in the standings, as they failed to reclaim the top spot from Liverpool, but the team has now won just one of the last five matches.

The West Ham players executed David Moyes’ tactics to perfection and did not allow any significant scoring chances in front of Alphonse Areola’s net. That was Moyes’ 1st triumph at the Emirates Stadium in 23 visits there. Prior to yesterday, Moyes and his teams had recorded 18 losses and 4 draws. West Ham have turned somewhat into a black cat for the Gunners lately, as the Hammers eliminated them at the 1/8 finals in the EFL Cup in the beginning of November.
