Nuri Sahin is up for another spell at Borussia Dortmund, this time as an assistent manager. The former midfielder will try to improve the team’s fortunes getting directly involved with head coach Edin Terzic. He leaves the position of manager at Antalyaspor, a departure coinciding with the recent scandals in Turkish football. Nuri Sahin has played 274 matches for Borussia Dortmund with 26 goals and 49 assists.

Another former player of Borussia in the face of Sven Bender will also join the coaching staff. This can be seen as the board’s last attempt before pulling the plug on Terzic’s sacking. If there are no immediate improvements on the pitch and the team is not climbing up in the standings when the Bundesliga return in January, BVB’s board will look for a new manager.
