Tottenham to sign Timo Werner

Timo Werner is close to returning to the Premier League. Fabrizio Romano reports that Tottenham is extremely close to signing the German player and has already reached an agreement with his club RB Leipzig. Werner will initially move on loan, with a non-mandatory buy option inserted in the contract, which is believed to be set at 17 million.

Werner is expected to undergo his medical tests today and join Spurs’ training immediately. This will be the attacker’s 2nd spell in the Premier League and London, respectively, as he was previously part of Chelsea. He represented the Blues for 2 full seasons between 2020 and 2022, during which he won the Champions League. However, he failed to impress with his performances and subsequently returned to RB Leipzig. The German has taken part in 56 Premier League matches, with a return of 10 goals and 13 assists.

In the 2023/24 season, Werner has participated in a total of 14 games across all tournaments but started in only 2. He has scored 2 goals and provided 1 assist.
