Barcelona defeats Osasuna and will meet Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final

Barcelona won 2:0 the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Osasuna and have reached the final. It will take place on Sunday in Riadh, Saudi Arabia with the other contesting team being Barca’s eternal rivals Real Madrid. Both of the Catalan giants’ goals came after the break and were scored by the oldest and youngest players in the squad – Robert Lewandowski (35) and Lamine Yamal (17).

It was revealed that the Spanish Super Cup final will be refereed by Juan Martinez Munuera. The 41 year old have officiated 3 El Classicos in his career so far, with the outcomes showing two wins for Real Madrid and one for Barcelona. The curious part here is that all three of those meetings have ended in victories for the visiting party, and two have finished with indentical scores of 0:4. Even though the game on Sunday is taking place at a neutral location, Real Madrid has been listed as the hosting team.

This season Munuera has refereed one Barcelona and one Real Madrid match, with the Catalans winning 1:0 their encounter against Athletic Bilbao, while Real Madrid ended in a boring goalless draw with Rayo Vallecano.
