Xavi started two 16 year-olds in Barcelona’s 2:4 win against Betis

Barcelona ensured a vital 2:4 victory when visiting Betis on Sunday. Ferran Torres was the hero for the Catalans as he netted a hat-trick to help his team neutralize Isco’s brace for Betis. Barca’s ‘never give up’ attitude was evident late in the match, with the score being level at 2:2 in the last minute of regular time, when Joao Felix and Torres scored a goal each for the final score of 2:4. Aside of Torres’ and Isco’s performances, one of the main topics of the game was Pau Cubarsi who celebrates his 17th birthday today. The encounter with Betis, marked Cubarsi’s LaLiga debut at the age of 16.

Pau Cubarsi was not the only 16 year old who started for Barcelona in that match, as the already well-known Lamine Yamal also started from the 1st minute.
