Liverpool have scouted not only Bayer Leverkusen’s manager, Xabi Alonso, but also two of their players over the weekend. Alonso, an ex-Liverpool player, has been strongly linked with a return to the club after Jurgen Klopp announced he will be leaving his position at the end of the season. Now, it has been revealed by Mirror that Liverpool have been looking at two of Bayer Leverkusen’s key players – Piero Hincapie and Florian Wirtz.

Hincapie, a 22-year-old, operates in defense, while Wirtz, two years younger than his teammate, is an extremely technically gifted attacking midfielder, who has been compared to none other than Lionel Messi by his manager Alonso. Piero Hincapie, an Ecuadorian, joined Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2021 for €6.35 million, while Wirtz is a product of the club’s youth academy and has been part of the first team since 2020.
