Argentina to face El Salvador and Costa Rica without Messi

Lionel Messi has been ruled out of Argentina’s friendlies due to a hamstring injury. It has been officially confirmed that Messi is out from the Argentina games against El Salvador and Costa Rica. “The captain Lionel Messi will not be able to be in the squad for the friendlies in the USA due to a minor injury he suffered in his team’s match against Nashville” the statement reads.

In the current MLS season, Messi has led Inter Miami to the top of the Eastern Conference, with the team securing 10 points from 5 matches with his personal statistics showing 3 goals and 1 assist. This is a major improvement from the last season when Inter missed the playoffs and finished in the penultimate 14th position. The record eight-time Ballon d’Or holder, who has won everything possible in football, including the World Cup victory in 2022, will surely be missed by the national team in these fixtures.
