Arsenal prevails at Old Trafford, the Premier League title to be decided on final day of the season

Arsenal recorded a slender 0:1 victory in their visit to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday. With the win the Gunners leapfrogged Manchester City at the top spot of the Premier League standings, having 86 points, one more than Pep Guardiola’s side who has a game in hand.

Eric Ten Hag and the Red Devils were without Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw, and Lisandro Martinez among many missing through injuries key players. The only goal of the match was scored by the Belgian international Leando Trossard from close range in the 21st minute after an assist from Kai Havertz. Arsenal’s win was only their 2nd across the last 17 visits at Old Trafford and it also means that the Gunners have achieved a league double against Manchester United for the first time since 2007. After the defeat, Manchester United remains in 8th position in the standings with 54 points, three behind 6th-placed Newcastle.
