Dallas lose at home, Boston one win away from an 18th NBA title

The Boston Celtics are just one win away from clinching the NBA title. Last night they defeated the Dallas Mavericks 106-99 at American Airlines Center in Dallas and are now 3-0 up in the Finals series. The first half finished with both teams separated by just one point 51-50 in favor of the Mavs, but Boston built their lead in the 3rd quarter, which finished 85-70. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum inspired the the Celtics, with the former finishing with 30 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assist, while Tatum ended the game with 31/6/5 statistics.

Kyrie Irving was the driving force behind the Mavericks, who desperately needed the win, scoring 36 points on 13-of-28 shooting from the court and 4/6 from long distance. Despite scoring 27 points, Dallas’ Slovenian star Luka Doncic was up not to usual best as he made only 1 of his 7 attempts from deep. No team has managed to erase 3-0 deficit in NBA Finals history and by what we have seen so far, Dallas will not be the first to do so. They can avoid the sweep, by winning game 4 of the series, scheduled for Friday at American Airlines Center.
