Nacho nears Real exit door, Al-Ittihad favourites to sign the defender

Since making the decision to leave Real Madrid in April, Nacho Fernandez has remained steadfast in his resolve not to consider any proposals from other European clubs. For the seasoned defender, the only European team worth playing for is Real Madrid. However, he is now on the verge of accepting an offer from Al Ittihad, to begin a new chapter in his career.

Al Ittihad is in advanced discussions to sign the Spain international as a free agent. While the deal is not finalized, talks are ongoing, as reported by the French L’Équipé. Real Madrid still expects Nacho’s final decision but has been preparing for his departure since May.

In anticipation of Nacho’s exit, Los Blancos have identified Leny Yoro as the top target to strengthen their defense. Yoro, an 18-year old promising talent from Lille, is also on Liverpool’s shortlist for a new center-back. Real Madrid is currently leading the race for the young Frenchman and is actively working to agree on a fee with Lille. The player himself is prioritizing a move to the LaLiga giants, which could see him don the famous white jersey in the near future.
