Waldemar Anton chooses Borussia Dortmund over Bayer Leverkusen

Waldemar Anton has decided to join Borussia Dortmund ahead of Bayer Leverkusen. The agreement on personal terms is already in place, and the contract for the center-back is ready. Borussia Dortmund is now prepared to pay the release clause to Stuttgart, which is set at around €22 million.

The move has been confirmed by the president of the German Football Association (DFB), Rudi Völler, who stated, “Waldemar Anton will join Borussia Dortmund.” The story has been further validated by Völler, who added, “He ultimately decided in favour of Borussia Dortmund. My former club Bayer Leverkusen also wanted him.”

Anton, who has been a key player for Stuttgart, is now set to bolster Borussia Dortmund’s defence. However, the transfer is still pending medical tests, which need to be completed before the move can be finalized.

With this addition, Borussia Dortmund aims to strengthen their squad as they look forward to the upcoming season.
