Joao Felix to follow Morata out, Atletico Madrid actively seeking new striker

Atletico Madrid is in the midst an overhaul in their forward line, looking to replace the forwards of the past with fresh talent for the future. João Félix has returned to Madrid to train alone under the supervision of Atletico Madrid staff. However, there is no chance of him staying at the club as both parties are eager for a transfer. Unai Emery is keen on making Félix his dream signing for Aston Villa, though the club is looking to negotiate and lower the high transfer fee.

Meanwhile, Artem Dovbyk has shown an initial interest in AS Roma’s project, being open to joining the Italian club. Negotiations between Atletico Madrid and Dovbyk are currently at a standstill, with AS Roma pushing hard to secure the striker’s services.

Earlier this month, Atletico Madrid lost Alvaro Morata to AC Milan, adding urgency to their need to secure a new striker. With Dovbyk potentially opting for Roma’s offer, Atletico must act quickly to avoid a striker crisis and ensure they have the necessary firepower for the upcoming season. In their quest to strengthen the forward line, the Spanish club has also shown interest in Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez, eyeing the young talent as a potential addition to their squad but there are no advances yet.

Additionally, Atletico Madrid saw the departure of Stefan Savić, who has agreed to join Trabzonspor on a three-year contract, valid until June 2027. The decision for Savić to leave was mutual, marking the end of his tenure with the club.
