Newcastle announces Osula’s transfer, Bruno Guimaraes to stay and lead

Newcastle United are bolstering their attacking options with the acquisition of young striker William Osula. The 21-year-old arrived in Newcastle yesterday for medical tests, with a deal already finalized with Sheffield United. Osula joins the Magpies for a £10m fee plus an additional £5m in add-ons. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe expressed his emotion about the new signing, stating, “A player that really excites us!”

In related news, Bruno Guimaraes, one of Necastle’s most important players on and off the field has reaffirmed his commitment to the club amidst rumours of his departure. The Brazilian midfielder, who has been a pivotal figure for the team, emphasized his desire to make a lasting impact at the club. “I’m very happy at Newcastle, I never said I would like to leave! I always said I would like to put my name in the club’s history. I can’t wait to do my best for the club and the fans” Guimaraes declared.

He also revealed that he has been added to the team’s ‘leadership group’ after taking the captain’s armbrand in recent matches. Reflecting on the new responsibility, he said, “I have always been a leader. But it’s a big challenge because English isn’t my first language. The leader isn’t just who wears the armband, but the person who fights for the club in many, many ways — for example, I missed just one game last season. I’ve been captain at Athletico Paranaese, Brazil Youths, and at Lyon. The gaffer has given me a big responsibility and I want to deliver something for him and the fans.”
