Barcelona and Nike set to sign massive sponsorship deal

Barcelona is on the verge of securing a 10-year renewal of their sponsorship deal with Nike, valued at an estimated €90 million per season plus a €115 million signing bonus. The new agreement, which replaces the current €35 million annual contract expiring in 2028, represents a significant financial boost for the club. Overall, the deal could be worth between €1.15 billion and €1.3 billion over the next decade.

The negotiations have been ongoing for months, with Barcelona pushing to finalize the agreement before the summer transfer window deadline on August 30th. The Catalan club has already submitted the draft of their new contract with Nike to La Liga for approval. The urgency to close this deal is driven by Barcelona’s need to lift the financial restraints that have hindered their ability to register new players for the upcoming season.

Once the Nike deal is officially announced, it is expected to provide a much-needed cash influx and allow Barcelona to return to the 1:1 financial rule, easing the club’s limitations under La Liga’s financial fair play regulations. Currently, Barcelona faces challenges in registering new signings, including Dani Olmo, due to these financial issues. The completion of the Nike deal is seen as a critical step towards enabling the Catalan club to finalize player registrations and to further strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
