Mbappé’s first LaLiga goals secure Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory

Real Madrid claimed a 2-0 win against Real Betis in the fourth round of La Liga, with Kylian Mbappé scoring his first two goals in the Spanish top flight. The French star opened the scoring in the 67th minute, marking his debut goal in La Liga. The goal came from a well-executed team play; Rodrygo made a breakthrough and passed the ball to Federico Valverde, who cleverly set up Mbappé with a backheel pass, leaving him one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Mbappé calmly slotted the ball into the net.

Mbappé doubled Real Madrid’s lead in the 76th minute from the penalty spot. The penalty was awarded after Betis goalkeeper Rui Silva fouled Vinicius Junior inside the box. Despite being the designated penalty taker for Real Madrid, Vinicius showed great sportsmanship and decided to hand the ball to Mbappé to boost his confidence. This gesture was well-received by both the fans and the team, with Vinicius encouraging the crowd to cheer for Mbappé before he took the shot.

After the game, Carlo Ancelotti praised Vinicius for his unselfish decision, saying, “Credits to Vinicius Jr today. Vini has been very unselfish, he left the penalty to Mbappé. Their relationship is good, and I like it.” This act of camaraderie between the two players reflects the positive dynamics within the squad.

After the win Real Madrid has 8 points from their first four matches, trailing league leaders Barcelona by four points. Betis, on the other hand, remains with two points from their opening games. Mbappé, grateful for the support from the fans even during his goal drought, expressed his appreciation: “The fans supported me even when I didn’t score; I feel grateful.”
