Victor Osimhen joins Galatasaray on loan

After failed moves to Al Ahli and Chelsea, and a shocking decision by Napoli to cut him from their Serie A squad, Victor Osimhen is now joining Galatasaray on loan. The deal has been finalized, with all necessary documents approved, marking a new chapter for the Nigerian striker.

Osimhen’s move to Galatasaray will be a loan deal lasting until June 2025, with his salary, estimated to be around €9-10 million per year, fully covered by the Turkish club. Importantly, this agreement does not include a buy option or obligation, meaning Osimhen will return to Napoli at the end of the loan period unless a different arrangement is made. Napoli has inserted a new release clause of €75 million, effective from 2025, and they retain the option to extend his contract until 2027.

Despite the absence of a buy option, Galatasaray has agreed to a January break clause. Such will allow top clubs to make a move for Osimhen if they choose to do so during the winter transfer window, providing flexibility for both the player and Napoli.

Osimhen’s potential moves to Al Ahli and Chelsea fell through due to various reasons, leaving Napoli in a difficult position. As a result, they decided to loan him to Galatasaray, giving the player a fresh start in the Turkish league while still keeping their options open for the future.
