Good friends Musiala and Wirtz to face off in Bundesliga top of the table clash, Bayern aims to reunite them next summer

Bayern Munich are preparing a major move to pair Jamal Musiala with Florian Wirtz next season, as they eye a summer transfer for the Bayer Leverkusen star. With competition from Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Arsenal, Bayern will face a tough battle to secure Wirtz’ signature. According to reports, Leverkusen have set a hefty €150 million asking price for the talented midfielder, who is also aiming to join a club which will present him with a strong chance of winning both the Champions League and the Ballon d’Or.

Bayern, however, remain confident in their pursuit of Wirtz, and their interest comes amid positive discussions with Musiala about his own future. Both parties are involved in contract talks, with the club reaffirming their appreciation for Musiala. Club sources described the talks as “very, very positive” with Bayern positioning themselves ahead of other top clubs vying for Musiala’s talents.

In the lead-up to this weekend’s highly anticipated clash between Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, Musiala reflected on his friendship with Wirtz but emphasized the focus on the upcoming match. “He’s a great player, we’re good friends and we have a great relationship. But we’re focused on ourselves. We want to keep doing our thing and not look at Leverkusen too much. It’s going to be a tough game and I think everyone’s looking forward to it” Musiala said.

As the two clubs, currently occupying the top two positions in the Bundesliga, prepare to face off, the potential for future transfer drama between the two stars looms large. For now, both Musiala and Wirtz will focus on Saturday’s showdown, but the summer transfer window could see a major shake-up in German football, especially if Bayern succeeds in their ambitious bid to bring Wirtz to Allianz Arena.
