Cavaliers’ record run continues, Timberwolves edge out Suns with Randle’s buzzer-beater

The Cleveland Cavaliers extended their franchise-best winning streak to 15 games with a 128-114 victory over the Charlotte Hornets. Darius Garland led the way with 25 points, while Ty Jerome stepped up in Donovan Mitchell’s absence, contributing 24 points. Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen also played pivotal roles, each scoring over 20 points and grabbing more than 10 rebounds, helping the Cavs shoot over 57% from the field. The Cavs now face a tough test on Wednesday against the defending NBA champions, the Boston Celtics, as they look to become the second team in league history to start a season 16-0.

Elsewhere in the NBA, the Minnesota Timberwolves edged the Phoenix Suns 120-117 thanks to a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from Julius Randle. Devin Booker’s impressive 44-point effort was not enough to save the Suns from defeat. In Los Angeles, the Clippers ended their three-game losing streak with a 116-105 win over the Utah Jazz. James Harden led with 20 points and 11 assists, while Ivica Zubac and Norman Powell provided crucial support.

Jaden Ivey’s season-high 28 points propelled the Detroit Pistons to a 124-104 win over the Washington Wizards, with Cade Cunningham recording his fourth triple-double of the season. Myles Turner’s 34-point effort helped the Indiana Pacers hold off a late rally from the Miami Heat for a 119-110 victory. In New York, Karl-Anthony Towns led the Knicks past the Nets 114-104 with 26 points and 15 rebounds. Meanwhile, Shaedon Sharpe’s 32-point performance lifted the Portland Trail Blazers to a 114-110 win over the Atlanta Hawks. The Houston Rockets cruised to a 143-107 victory over the Chicago Bulls, with Fred VanVleet leading the way and Alperen Sengun recording his second consecutive triple-double as seven Rockets players scored in double figures.
