A resounding 83% of respondents picked the Boston Celtics to defend their title, showcasing confidence in the team’s continuity and talent. When it comes to the league’s best player predictions, Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leads the race for the 2024-25 MVP with 40% of the vote, followed by Dallas’ Luka Doncic at 30%.

Jalen Williams of the Thunder was named the most likely to have a break-out season, receiving 13% of the votes. Among positional categories, Luka Doncic was selected as the league’s best point guard with 37%, Anthony Edwards of Minnesota took the shooting guard spot with 33%, and Boston’s Jayson Tatum was deemed the top small forward, collecting 47%. Giannis Antetokounmpo dominated the power forward position with 77%, while Nikola Jokic, unsurprisingly, was recognized as the best center with an overwhelming 87%.
The Memphis Grizzlies are anticipated to be the most improved team this season, with 67% of GMs expecting a leap in performance. San Antonio Spurs also made the list, coming in second at 13%. Reed Sheppard of Houston is the favourite for Rookie of the Year, receiving half of the votes. Globally, Nikola Jokic is viewed as the best international player in the NBA, while Sasha Vezenkov earned recognition as the best international player not currently in the league, securing 30% of the votes.
