Celtics win against Clippers in Porzingis return, Knicks rout Nuggets

The Boston Celtics secured a commanding 126-94 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers, snapping the Clippers’ five-game winning streak. Jaylen Brown and Derrick White fueled the Celtics’ explosive second quarter, scoring 13 and 12 points respectively. The team tied an NBA record by making 12 three-pointers in a quarter. Kristaps Porzingis made his season debut for Boston, contributing 16 points after missing the first 17 games. Ivica Zubac stood out for the Clippers with 23 points and 10 rebounds, shooting an impressive 11-of-14 from the field. Despite his efforts, the Clippers struggled to keep pace with Boston’s relentless offense.

In another thrilling matchup, the New York Knicks cruised to a 145-118 road victory over the Denver Nuggets. OG Anunoby led the charge for New York with a career-high 40 points. Karl-Anthony Towns added 30 points and 15 rebounds, while Jalen Brunson dished out a career-high 17 assists alongside 23 points. The Knicks tied a franchise record with 45 assists and achieved their season-high in points. For the Nuggets, Russell Westbrook scored 24 of his team-high 27 points in the fourth quarter. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray added 22 and 20 points respectively, but Denver’s defense was no match for New York’s offensive firepower. The Knicks showcased exceptional ball movement and scoring depth to secure the emphatic win away from home. Nikola Jokic, the league’s reigning MVP reflecting on the loss, said: “It’s always good to get punched in the face, just to wake up.”
