- Lucas Vazquez has received a two-match suspension and may not stay at Real Madrid
Key Takeaways:
Jude Bellingham’s red card from the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona has been overturned. The Spanish Football Federation reviewed the video footage and did not find any misconduct in the behaviour of the English attacking midfielder.
Meanwhile, two other Real Madrid players have been handed punishments. Centre-back Antonio Rudiger has received a six-match suspension after throwing ice at referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea.

The German defender will miss the five remaining La Liga fixtures this season as well as the first match of the 2024–25 campaign. Rudiger will use the suspension period to undergo a long-postponed surgery and is expected to be out for around two months.
The other sanctioned player is Lucas Vazquez. Like Rudiger, he was shown a straight red card, but his punishment is limited to two matches. The ban will apply to next season’s Copa del Rey, though it remains uncertain whether Vazquez will still be a Real Madrid player by then.
