Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. has made a historic debut for Portugal, representing the same national team where his father shattered numerous records. The 14-year-old son of the legendary forward, who shares his name, came on as a substitute for Portugal’s U15 team in a friendly match against Japan in Croatia.

Cristiano Jr. entered the pitch in the 54th minute, with his team already leading 3-0. The young Portuguese side eventually secured a 4-1 victory.

The teenager currently plays for the academy team of Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, where his father continues to score goals even at the age of 40. Despite his young age, Cristiano Jr. is already attracting interest from European clubs.

“Congratulations on your first game for Portugal, son!” his father wrote on Instagram. “I am so proud of you!”

Cristiano Jr., naturally, plays as a forward. On the pitch, he impressed with his physical attributes, which set him apart from the other boys, despite being one of the youngest in the team. His ball control is also one of his strongest qualities. The coach of the Portugal U15 team described him as “2-3 years ahead of his age.”

Portugal’s U15 team is participating in a mini-tournament in Croatia, which features eight teams from Europe and Asia. After the win against Japan, they will face Greece on Wednesday and England on Friday.

Another match is scheduled for Sunday, but the opponent will depend on the results of the other games.
