  • Huijsen is expected to sign a five-year contract and be available for the FIFA Club World Cup

Real Madrid have practically completed the signing of Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth. According to Marca the two clubs have already exchanged all necessary documents, with only the official presentation date yet to be finalised. Real Madrid will pay the £50 million release clause of the 20-year-old Spanish international in three instalments, with the full amount to be paid by the end of 2026. A percentage of the transfer fee will also be distributed among the clubs that played a role in Huijsen’s development – Juventus, Malaga, and Costa Unida.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Huijsen’s agents have arrived in Madrid to finalise personal terms for the player, who is expected to sign a five-year contract. This final phase of negotiations is focused on finalising the player’s salary and contract bonuses.

Huijsen had attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea. However, Real Madrid accelerated negotiations in recent days and secured the player’s commitment. The decisive push from the Santiago Bernabeu came after initial talks, with the Spanish giants making it clear that they wanted to finalise the deal before the end of the season.

If everything proceeds as planned, Huijsen should be available for Xabi Alonso at the FIFA Club World Cup, which will be Real Madrid’s first opportunity to integrate the young defender into their squad. This is the second major signing secured by Real Madrid before the end of the current campaign. As previously reported, although not yet officially announced, Trent Alexander-Arnold will also be joining the Spanish club once his contract with Liverpool expires.
