Liverpool and Bournemouth advance in Milos Kerkez transfer talks

Bournemouth's right-back Milos Kerkez

    Key Takeaways:

  • Liverpool and Bournemouth are officially negotiating the transfer of Milos Kerkez
  • The 21-year-old Hungarian has agreed on personal terms with Liverpool
  • Bournemouth are asking for around £45 million for the left-back

Liverpool and Bournemouth have officially entered advanced negotiations for the transfer of left-back Milos Kerkez, with talks between the two clubs progressing, reports transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The Merseyside club has already agreed on personal terms with the 21-year-old Hungarian international, who has expressed his desire to join Anfield. The two clubs are now discussing the transfer fee, with Bournemouth seeking around £45 million for Kerkez.

This move comes as Liverpool continue to strengthen their defensive options. The Reds are also on the verge of completing the signing of Jeremy Frimpong, who is expected to undergo medical examinations today before signing a five-year contract with the club. By securing Frimpong and pursuing Kerkez, Liverpool are looking to reinforce both full-back positions, a priority following the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold and the inconsistent form of Andrew Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas this season.

Liverpool’s transfer activity is unlikely to end with these two signings. Reports indicate that at least two more arrivals are expected, including a new central forward, as the club aims to further bolster its squad.

Later today, Liverpool will face Brighton at the Amex Stadium in a Premier League match from the 37th round, with John Brooks appointed as the referee. Liverpool have already secured the league title under the management of Arne Slot, leading the table with 83 points after 36 matches. Brighton, on the other hand, are ninth with 55 points and are playing only for pride.
