Inter secure Marseille’s winger Luis Henrique for Club World Cup

Luis Henrique in action for Marseille

    Key Takeaways:

  • Inter have finalized a €25 million deal for Marseille winger Luis Henrique, with a contract until 2030
  • The Brazilian is expected to compete with Denzel Dumfries at right wing-back due to Inzaghi’s system
  • The club had already secured Dinamo Zagreb’s Petar Sucic during the winter transfer window

Inter will take advantage of the additional transfer window granted due to the Club World Cup to complete a long-prepared signing, according to reports in Italy and France. The deal concerns Marseille winger Luis Henrique, with the presidents of both clubs reaching a final agreement earlier today.

The total fee for the Brazilian will amount to €25 million, including bonuses. Henrique will sign a contract until the summer of 2030, earning €2.5 million per season. Given Simone Inzaghi’s tactical 3-5-2 system, which does not rely on traditional wingers, the 26-year-old is expected to compete with Denzel Dumfries for the right wing-back role.

Henrique spent two and a half seasons at Stade Velodrome, registering 108 appearances, 11 goals, and 16 assists in that period.

It should also be noted that Inter had already completed the signing of another reinforcement during the winter — 21-year-old defensive midfielder Petar Sucic from Dinamo Zagreb.
