The Fiorentina board was left stunned today by the resignation of head coach Raffaele Palladino, report Sky Sport Italia and Gianluca Di Marzio. According to the information, the club is currently doing everything in its power to persuade the young specialist to stay, with the reason behind his shocking decision still unclear.

Curiously, Palladino had signed a new contract with Fiorentina earlier this month, extending his stay until the end of June 2027. He joined the club last summer following a successful period at the helm of Monza.

In his debut season in Florence, the 41-year-old coach guided the team to sixth place in Serie A with a tally of 65 points from 19 wins, 8 draws and 11 defeats. As a result, La Viola secured a fourth consecutive qualification for the UEFA Europa Conference League, having reached the semi-finals of the competition this season.
