Key Takeaways:
Chelsea triumphed in the Conference League. Enzo Maresca’s team defeated Betis in the final in Wroclaw with a 4:1 scoreline after a comeback in the second half. Ez Abde opened the scoring in the ninth minute, and the Andalusians led for around an hour. Enzo Fernandez equalised in the 65th minute, Nicolas Jackson put the Blues ahead five minutes later, substitute Jadon Sancho added another in the 83rd, and in stoppage time Moises Caicedo also scored.
Chelsea became the first club to win all major UEFA competitions. The Londoners entered the tournament as the main favourites and justified expectations. The Blues also became the second team from London to lift a European trophy this season after Tottenham’s Europa League success. For Betis, this was their first European final. Manuel Pellegrini’s side played an excellent first half but were outplayed after the break.

Both sides started at a very high tempo without wasting time getting to know each other. In the ninth minute, Malo Gusto lost the ball, it reached Isco, who spotted Abde with a brilliant pass, and the Moroccan finished superbly to give Betis the lead. Pellegrini’s team could have quickly scored a second, but a shot from Bartra was saved by Jorgensen. Just before the break, the Spaniards had another opportunity. After a free-kick cross by Antony, Jorgensen intervened, but not convincingly. The ball reached Fornals, whose shot was blocked.
Both managers made one change at halftime. Gusto, who had a poor first half, was replaced by Reece James, while Romain Perraud came on for Ricardo Rodriguez.
The English side equalised in the 65th minute, when a brilliant cross from Cole Palmer found Enzo Fernandez, who headed the ball into the net. The goal gave Chelsea a fresh boost and they launched attack after attack towards Adrian. Palmer struck a shot that went straight to the goalkeeper. In the 70th minute, the England international registered his second assist. He spun past Rodriguez and delivered a cross for Jackson. The striker didn’t manage to connect with a header, but the ball bounced off his body and into the net.
After completing the turnaround, Maresca’s team had firm control. Substitute Sancho scored a third for the English side in the 83rd minute. He received the ball from Dewsbury-Hall, who had just entered the pitch, and fired a brilliant shot into the net. Only then did Betis begin to push forward. They created two scrambles in the Chelsea penalty area, but it was too late. In added time, Caicedo joined the goalscorers with a superb strike from distance.
