This marks Max Allegri’s return to the helm of the Milan giants, whom he led to the league title in the 2010/11 season and the Italian Super Cup in 2011.
He was released by Milan in January 2014, after which he had two spells in charge of Juventus. Exactly one year ago, Allegri was sacked by the Turin side and has been out of work for the past 12 months. Until recently, the coach was strongly linked with a move to Napoli, but it appears Antonio Conte has been convinced to stay there.
Allegri becomes the second major new figure at Giuseppe Meazza, following the club’s recent appointment of Igli Tare as sporting director.
