Inter consider Hojlund move after Champions League final collapse

Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund

    Key Takeaways:

  • Inter are targeting Rasmus Hojlund to strengthen their attack after the heavy loss in the Champions League final
  • Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa are expected to leave as free agents this summer
  • Manchester United are open to selling Hojlund if they receive a favourable offer

Inter are exploring the possibility of signing Rasmus Hojlund. The Manchester United striker is among the main transfer targets for the Nerazzurri.

Inter suffered a humiliating 0:5 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final. The heavy loss could lead to major changes in the squad of Simone Inzaghi. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa are both certain to leave San Siro as free agents, and Inter plan to fill the gap with a forward of higher calibre.

It is claimed that one of the options being considered is Hojlund, who left Atalanta for Old Trafford in 2023 for around £70 million. The Dane received plenty of criticism for his performances, but Inter believe in his potential and are ready to offer up to €40 million for his transfer. The idea is for him to compete for a starting place alongside Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.

Manchester United would not be opposed to parting ways with Hojlund if a suitable offer is presented. Manager Ruben Amorim has been left disappointed with the striker’s performance and is pushing for a new center-forward.
