Liverpool turn attention to Osimhen as striker rejects Saudi move and eyes Premier League switch

    Key Takeaways:

  • Victor Osimhen prioritises Premier League move over Saudi switch
  • Liverpool closely monitor Napoli striker’s situation
  • Galatasaray willing to offer €75M but player prefers England

Victor Osimhen has emerged as a top transfer target for Liverpool this summer, with the Premier League club closely monitoring his situation amid uncertainty over his future at Napoli.

The Nigerian striker, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, is determined to remain in Europe despite already turning down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia.

According to English media reports, Galatasaray are ready to submit a €75 million bid for Osimhen’s permanent transfer. However, the player is said to be holding out for a move to the Premier League, with Liverpool and Manchester United among the clubs previously linked with his signature.

Liverpool are expected to part ways with at least one of their current forwards — Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo or Luis Diaz — with the Colombian reportedly on Barcelona’s radar in recent weeks.

The Merseyside club have already signed Dutch full-back Jeremie Frimpong for £35 million and are close to a British-record move for German playmaker Florian Wirtz at nearly £130 million. Despite those heavy investments, the club under Arne Slot continues to push for further reinforcements, and Osimhen is now firmly on their radar.
