One of the most active clubs on the transfer market – Manchester City – is on the verge of securing another young talent. According to The Athletic, the Premier League club has reached an agreement with Rosenborg for the transfer of 18-year-old midfielder Sverre Nypan. The transfer fee will amount to €14.6 million.

Personal terms between the player and the club have not yet been agreed upon, but the offer currently being discussed includes a contract lasting until the summer of 2030. The expectation is for the Norwegian youngster to go out on loan next season, with plans for him to officially join the Citizens in the 2026/27 campaign. City had shown interest in Nypan during the winter transfer window as well.

Nypan joined Rosenborg at the start of 2022 and has since made 70 official appearances, during which he scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists. In July 2024, he started in a friendly against Manchester United, which the Norwegian side won 1–0. The young midfielder is known for his versatility, having been deployed as a defensive midfielder, central midfielder, attacking midfielder, and even as a center-forward. He is also a regular presence in Norway’s youth national teams, from U15 through to U21.
