Juventus win the race for Jonathan David signature

Jonathan David celebrates after scoring for Lille

    Key Takeaways:

  • Juventus have reached full agreement to sign Jonathan David on a free transfer
  • The Canadian striker will earn a net €6M annual salary under a long-term contract
  • Napoli and Inter offered similar terms, but Juve guaranteed him a starting role

Juventus have reached a full agreement to sign Canadian international Jonathan David as a free agent, Fabrizio Romano has reported.

David was one of the most sought-after forwards on the market precisely because he officially became a free agent this summer, having waited for his contract with Lille to expire. Juventus beat out competition — particularly from other Italian giants — to secure the forward as their newest addition up front.

According to Romano, David will earn a net salary of €6 million per year — offers in this range were also made by Napoli and Inter. However, the Bianconeri are in a position to guarantee the striker a starting role, as they are looking to part ways with Dusan Vlahovic.

Romano informs that the Canadian’s contract with Juve is long-term and that he will undergo medical tests and sign with the club later this week.
