Manchester City set £40M price tag on Jack Grealish amid interest from Premier League and Serie A

Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish

    Key Takeaways:

  • City put £40M price tag on Grealish, signed for £100M in 2021
  • Lost starting place last season and missed Club World Cup
  • Tottenham, Newcastle, Napoli and Aston Villa all reportedly interested

Manchester City have set a price of just £40 million for Jack Grealish, who was signed for a record £100 million from Aston Villa four years ago. He played 50 matches and recorded 16 goals and assists in the season when the Citizens won the treble.

However, his form declined afterwards and injuries became more frequent. Last season, he lost his starting place and featured in only 20 Premier League games, registering just one goal and one assist. Due to his limited playing time, Josep Guardiola did not include him in City’s squad for the Club World Cup.

Despite Grealish’s poor season, there is no shortage of interest in him, especially given his low price. Tottenham, Newcastle, and Napoli are all reportedly keen on signing him. A return to Aston Villa is also not ruled out, although Grealish’s high wages could pose an issue. The 29-year-old Englishman is under contract with Manchester City until 2027.
