Boca Juniors have reached an agreement with Roma for the transfer of midfielder Leandro Paredes, reports journalist Fabrizio Romano. The Argentine club will pay less than €3.5 million, which had initially been set as the buyout clause. However, with performance-related bonuses, the total sum could reach €3.5 million.

The 30-year-old Argentine is set to sign a three-and-a-half-year contract with his boyhood club. He will travel for medical tests, with a verbal agreement already in place following lengthy negotiations over recent weeks.

The World Cup winner with Argentina began his professional career at Boca Juniors back in 2010, before making his first move to Roma in 2014. Over the years, he also featured for Empoli, Zenit Saint Petersburg, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus. In the 2024/25 campaign, Paredes made 33 appearances across all competitions, scoring 4 goals and recording 2 assists.
