Earlier this week, Atalanta rejected the first offer of €53 million for the Argentina-born Italian international. However, the Bergamo-based club has now accepted the Saudi side’s improved proposal. Meanwhile, there is already an agreement in place on personal terms between Retegui and Al-Qadsiah for a stunning €20 million per season.
The 26-year-old joined Atalanta only last summer, with “La Dea” paying Genoa €28 million for him. He finished the 2024/25 season as the top scorer in Serie A with 25 goals in 36 matches, finishing ahead of Moise Kean, who scored 19 and was also a target for Al-Qadsiah earlier this summer.
Retegui now looks set to leave Serie A after just two seasons, having scored seven goals in 29 matches for Genoa following his move from Argentina in the summer of 2023.
